Bharti Airtel has posted a 42 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 1,722 crore for the quarter ended December 31, on the back of a record addition to its subscriber base. The company had earned a net profit of Rs 1,215 crore in the December quarter last fiscal. The consolidated revenues also grew by 42 per cent to Rs 6,964 crore from Rs 4,913 crore a year ago.The third quarter of this fiscal saw a highest-ever net addition of 63.9 lakh users, taking the total subscriber base to over 5.7 crore at the end of December. “We are not worried about an increase in competition and fall in prices. It has been our strategy to reduce prices. We are rapidly expanding,” managing director Akhil Gupta told The Indian Express.DLF net profit stands at Rs 2,145 croreNEW DELHI: Real estate giant DLF has reported a net profit of Rs 2,145 crore for the quarter ended December 31, more than 10 per cent compared to its entire profit in last fiscal, driven by execution of more projects. The consolidated revenue of DLF, India’s largest real estate firm, stood at Rs 3,651 crore for the third quarter of 2007-08 fiscal. The comparatives figures are not available as the company got listed in July last year.DLF vice-chairman Rajiv Singh attributed the surge in growth to execution of more projects. “As execution is ramping up, it is getting reflected in bottom line,” he told reporters. “The profit for this quarter is about 10 per cent more than the entire profit of last fiscal,” Singh said.
