Changing 4 schools in 9 years has made me more adjusting
8220;Taking up new challenges is always exciting. I love to leave my comfort zone and carve my own identity wherever I go. Changing four schools in nine years has made me more adjusting,8221; says Abhivyakati Saxena, a student of Carmel Convent School. She has travelled to different parts of the country and studied in various schools, thanks to her father8217;s job. But all this travelling, as she says, has shaped her into a better human being.nbsp;
Other than academics, Abhivyakati is also adept at a number of extra-curricular activities. She is a good orator and has represented her school at various declamation contests at the district and state level. 8220;Participating in such competitions has improved my public speaking skills. I feel that I am able to put forward my opinion more easily and clearly,8221; she states.
She represented her school at the WORDZ MUN held in the city recently, where she was given the commendation award. She was also selected to participate in the Aryabhatta examination, a national-level test of one8217;s mathematical ability. She is also the founder member of her school8217;s Reporters Club. nbsp;
Her hobbies include reading books and giving words to her thoughts in the form of poetry. 8220;I am very fond of reading and can read anything I can lay my hands on. But detective novels and thrillers are my preferred genre, with Agatha Christie being my favourite author,8221; she says. Abhivyakati is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and has also learnt Hindustani Classical music. She feels that the current breed of music is not as soulful as it used to be. 8220;Music is one thing that soothes your senses. But the kind of songs that are composed today are crass and sound like cacophony,8221; she shares.
She aspires to be an aeronautical engineer when she grows up as the universe and stars fascinate her no end, she admits. She says her father is her inspiration. 8220;I would like to be as tactful as he is. I find him to be extremely calm even in the toughest of situations,8221; she says.
