Calcutta, April 19: West Bengal's Marxist government has turned swadeshi in blocking Coca Cola India's attempt to open a factory in the State. ``We'll not allow the Coca Cola factory in the interest of local entrepreneurs,'' the State's Industries Minister, Bidyut Ganguli, has announced.Coca Cola India has received the clearance from the Centre for the venture. It has also written to the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation, wanting to open a unit at either the Falta industrial zone or Kalyani at an estimated investment of Rs 60 crore.Ganguli told The Indian Express on Saturday that two entrepreneurs from the State had an agreement with Coca Cola India. They want to start their own cold drinks business once the agreement with Coca Cola India expired next year. Is it the same line as the BJP's swadeshi? ``Call it whatever you will. But we have decided to give certain advantages to local industries,'' Ganguli said.
