NEW DELHI, November 6: BAV Inter College (Meerut) and Sat Guru Pratap Academy (Ludhiana) qualified for the Super League, beating Khalsa Academy (Amritsar) and Children Academy (Bhopal) 5-1 and 2-1, respectively, in the 16th Nehru-ONGC sub-junior hockey tournament at National Stadium here today.

A hat-trick by Dinesh Rana helped V S Agriculture School (Kheragarhi, Delhi) beat G G S Khalsa School (Chandigarh) 3-1 in a group 4 match. Jasbir Singh scored the only goal for the losers who took the lead in the ninth minute before Rana scored three goals in the space of nine minutes.

One goal each from Mohammad shak Ali, Gagan, Imtiaz Ahmed, Jagdish Yadav and Gaurav featurted in B A V College’s win over Khalsa Academy. Harmit Singh scored the consolation goal for the losers.

Baljinder Singh and Gurcharan Singh hit the target for Sat Guru Pratap Academy in their 2-1 win over Children Academy for whom Babar Khan was the lone goal-getter.

Khalsa Academy, Amritsar, and Childrens Academy, Bhopal, bowed out of the qualifying round. They will play for the consolation trophy tomorrow.
