Hyderabadi brothers Basheer and Shamshir Ali who scored a ton against McDowell yesterday were in terrific form again. Though Dhruvpal Godara scored first for SAIL, Shamsher Ali took his team into the lead in the second chukker. Four incredibly fast goals made the difference to the team’s fortunes. Despite an injury suffered by Shamsher in the third chukker, the Hyderabad Chaughan team wrapped up the match with comfort.

The match between Videocon and OCM opened to an easy goal scored by Videocon’s KV Singh off a pass by Uday Kalaan. A backhand shot by Uday gave them a 2-0 lead. OCM struck back with two quick goals midway in the first chukker. Videocon scored again to take the lead. Uday Kalaan kept the ball in his own possession, hit a spectacular shot in to the goal boards. At 4-2, Videocon seemed in a strong position.

In the next chukker, OCM started with a missed penalty but had another penalty chance soon after which OCM’s Manupal Godara managed to score. While Videocon failed to score in this chukker, Manu scored again taking the match to a draw situation at 4-4.

The next chukker seemed one of penalties as both Videocon and OCM hit a penalty goal each. But just before the chukker ended, Videocon’s K V Singh scored again, taking his team back into the lead at 5-4.

The fourth and final chukker was particularly fast and exciting. The players moved back and forth from one goal to the other without being able to score. At one point, Videocon got an opportunity which was stopped by Nikhilendra’s horse. Just when OCM’s fate seemed sealed, Nikhilendra took the ball to the goal and levelled the match.

As the tournament is based on a league system, the OCM-Videocon match was declared a draw.
