The Maharashtra State Ambulance Association(SAA) has threatened an agitation on December 22 and will take out a rally at the Vidhan Bhavan to protest against the government’s decision to not allow parking of ambulances on the premises of government and private hospitals.

A statement issued by Nana Kshirsagar, president of the association on Tuesday stated that the state government had in a directive banned the parking of ambulances at government and private hospitals.

After the terror attacks in Mumbai, the security is even more stringent and the ambulance association has urged that they need to park ambulances on the premises of these hospitals as it is one of the services offered to the patients. Sassoon General hospital has refused to let the ambulances park at the premises. Kshirsagar said that the association has urged the government to look into their demands failing which they will stage a rally on December 22 and launch an agitation.
