Atif, Saif used same aliases to buy tickets, cycles in Jaipur

“Saif and ten others came to Jaipur on May 11, in a Volvo bus from Bikaner House in Delhi, and conducted a recce in the city. They left for Delhi after placing the bombs on May 13,” said Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) Deputy Inspector-General A Ponnuchamy.

The police said those involved in the blasts were: Saif, Atif and Bada Sajid (who were killed in the Delhi encounter), Junaid, Sajid, Khalid, Arif, Shahbad, Salman and two others whose names are yet to be determined.

According to Ponnuchamy, Saif and the others used aliases during their trip to Jaipur. “They purchased the cycles, train tickets and bus tickets under the same aliases. The names on the bills from the cycle shops, the bus reservation system and the train tickets corroborate this. We cannot reveal the aliases at this moment,” he said.

While Saif is in Delhi Police custody, efforts are underway to apprehend the others. Sources said this information was garnered after interrogating Saif, who reportedly laid bare the Jaipur terror plot.

On reaching Jaipur’s Sindhi bus camp on May 11, Saif and the rest split into three teams. Sajid, Shahdab and Atif selected the bomb locations, while the others chose the shops in Kishenpol, in the walled city area, from where they would buy the cycles. The suspects stayed in Jaipur on May 11, returned to Delhi on May 12, and came back to Jaipur on May 13, when they bought the cycles, placed the bombs and caught the 5.50 pm Shatabdi to Delhi.
