CHANDIGARH, Feb 17: The Residents Welfare Association of Phase 3-B/2, SAS Nagar will organise athletic meet in the age group of 10 to 16 years on February 21, at 3-B ground.According to a press release, the competition will be held in 100, 200 metres and long jump and shot put events.Decision criticisedA C Vaid, The principal of SD College-32, has criticised the decision of Punjab University Sports Committee to debar the college cricket team for one year. In a press release, he has stated that Rahul Panta was admitted in accordance with the instructions issued by the PU on September 5, 1997.The college has also questioned Panta's selection in the university cricket team for the inter-varsity competitions ``if he is not eligible for inter-college.'' The college will appeal against the decision and if need be, go to the court, said the principal.Carrom meetThe Himachal Pradesh Carrom Association will organise state meet on February 27 and 28 at Shimla.
