AUCKLAND, FEB 20: A dashing century from Nathan Astle led New Zealand to a crushing seven-wicket victory over South Africa in the third One-Day International at Eden Park today.

Chasing a modest 213 for victory, Astle hit the winning runs to finish unbeaten on 100 (12×4, 2×6) from 126 balls – his sixth one-day ton – with the home side cruising to their target with 41 balls to spare.

Astle was brutal when facing off-spinner Pat Symcox who now faces the return journey to South Africa having been selected just for one-day games – contemplating figures of naught for 64 in 7.1 overs.

An unbeaten century from Lance Klusener (103: 130b, 8×4, 1×6) earlier provided the backbone to a poor South African batting display after Dion Nash had won the toss and put them in to bat.
