The Pakistan Cricket Board is to consult a foreign medical expert to ascertain when paceman Mohammad Asif might recover from injury to play for the country.

Asif pulled out of the ODI series in India at the 11th hour due to a nagging elbow injury and the PCB is unclear whether he will recover in time to join the team for the three-Test series from Nov. 22.

“Asif has been undergoing a rehabilitation process recommended by the team trainer. But we will be sending him to consult a foreign expert,” Dr Nasim Ashraf, PCB Chairman told a news conference on Thursday.
