As a precursor to the coming Asian Games at Busan in South Korea, India will take on Uzbekistan, the 1994 Asian Games champions, in two exhibition football matches here at the Ambedkar Stadium on September 15 and 18.

The Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) has been entrusted by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to organise these matches. The Indian team, which is currently undergoing training at Jamshedpur, will arrive here on September 13.

Several top players, including skipper Bhaichung Bhutia, custodian Rajat Ghosh Dastidar, Bijen Singh, Jo Paul Ancheri, Rennedy Singh, Venkatesh and Mahesh Gawli will be seen in action in the two matches against the former Asian Games champions.

The local association has made elaborate arrangements for conducting the matches, which will start at 3.30 PM. Tickets for are also priced at nominal rates of Rs 10 and Rs 5.

Moreover, an Indian under-20 team will visit Uzbekistan from September 30 to October 5 as part of an exposure trip.
