A rush of earthquake survivors is expected in Islamabad as the weather worsens in Kashmir and shattered roads re-open, a senior official said on Sunday.How many, nobody knows, said Chaudry Mohammad Ali, a senior member of the Islamabad district government. The authority is rushing to set up two temporary camps in addition to the three it has set up already, and the nearby city of Rawalpindi has established three or four, he said.‘‘These are very tough people. They are mountain folk,’’ said Shezwan Mohammad Shamshad, a senior official of the municipal government. ‘‘But, definitely they are shocked. They instantly lost everything. They are blank. They have no idea what to do next,’’ he added.At the Pakistani Institute of Medical Sciences, 300 people were living in tents made for a few people. In some, up to 17 people sheltered from the rain and hail which turned the hospital grounds into a mud bath on Sunday. They share four toilets and showers.Hafiz Ur-Rehman, 45, a science teacher, arrived there three days ago from Balakot in the North West Frontier Province.He wears a blue sandal on his right foot and a brown one on his left. Like all his clothes, they were donated in the massive outpouring of sympathy across the nation.He lives in a tent with his wife and five children. His two-year-old son was killed and it took two days to find his body and bury him.All he wants is a tent — an item in short supply — and to go home to Balakot, even though he doesn’t know what he will do when he gets there.‘‘I lost everything there,’’ he said.Half of quake toll in Muzaffarabad: PakMUZAFFARABAD: Nearly half the 38,000 people killed in Pakistan’s earthquake died in Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, interior minister Aftab Sherpao said on Sunday. ‘‘There are 18,500 dead in Muzaffarabad alone. The total number of people killed in PoK is around 25,000,’’ Sherpao said.
