PATIALA, Feb 25: Major Sunil Issar did not know what was in store for him when he purchased a Maruti 800 DX car late last year. Yesterday, he became a proud owner of an Esteem AX automatic transmission car presented to him by M/s Hira Automobiles here.
K.S. Bhattal, director of Hira Automobiles, handed over the keys of the completely accessory-loaded Maruti Esteem to a beaming Maj Issar at a colourful function here last evening. MC Commissioner Harkesh Singh Sidhu was the chief guest at the function.
Bhattal said that to commemorate 15 years of togetherness, Maruti Udyog organised a special competition for all their car buyers from November 1 to December 31, 1998. Over 40,000 cars were sold during this period. Maj Issar, having scripted the magic winning slogan after answering five simple questions, stood out as the winner in the nationwide competition. The selection process for conducted in four sessions in Delhi with a panel of eminent personalities from different fields.
Hira Automobiles has bagged the Best Workshop Award and the International Business Excellence Award.
