
Pondicherry, Oct 14: Unseeded M Aparna of Tamil Nadu edged out top seed B M Aswhini of Karnataka 13-21, 21-17, 25-23, 21-19 to bag the sub-junior girls’ title of the National Insurance All-India Ranking table tennis championships today. Tamil Nadu lad M Subhash bagged the cadet boy’s title defeating Soumya Nandi of Bengal 21-16, 15-21, 21-18 in the finals.
Top seed Poulomi Ghatak (Bengal) annexed the junior girls’ title defeating state-mate Nandita Saha 22-20, 21-17, 21-14, while top seed Arunava Ganguly of PSCBA bagged the sub-junior boys’ title outplaying third seed T R Rohit also of PSCBA 16-21, 21-11, 21-10, 21-11 in the finals.
Second seed Supraja Prasad of Karnataka bagged the girls’ singles title defeating Ahana Paul (Bengal) 21-19, 21-14.
Top seed S Raman (PSCB) and fourth seed Arjun Dutta (PSCB) from the men’s side and second seed N R Indu (PSCB) and fourth seed Mouma Das (PSCB) from the distaff side entered the finals of the championship today.
