Andhra Pradesh Chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy today said the State Government was committed to fulfilling its election promises and provide reservations in jobs and education to Muslims.
Campaigning for Congress’ candidate for the Asifnagar Assembly by-election D Nagender, Reddy assured Muslim voters that his party would do everything to uplift minorities educationally and economically.
During his nine-hour electioneering, Reddy also targeted former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for playing opportunist politics by joining the BJP and making false promises to minorities.
The by-election was necessiated following the resignation of sitting MLA D Nagender, who was elected thrice from the constituency while he contested the last election on a TDP ticket after Congress refused to nominate him.
