CHANDIGARH, Sept 28: City resident Sushil Kumar Sharma has won the first prize in the Contessa Hill Holiday Contest ’98, organised by Hindustan Motors Limited.

The participants were required to go to the hills in their Contessa Classic, shoot some photographs and send it for the contest. The photograph(s) could be in colour or black and white.

Sharma has won a seven days and six nights holiday package for two to Seychelles, sponsored by the Seychelles Tourist Office. Sharma, an amateur photographer, has been involved in photography for the past five years. Till now, he has won one third prize, three second prizes and this time, the first prize.

For the prize-winning photograph this year, Sharma went to the Lahaul and Spiti valley. The shot is of a village with a famous monastery in the background. The village is about 450 km beyond Shimla at an altitude of 4,000 meters.

The annual contest is open to all Contessa car-owners in India. According to Sharma, last year there were about 2,000 entries for the contest. He added that almost all the prizes were won by professionals and the number of entries has been increasing each year.
