KARACHI, FEBRUARY 13: Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, who is at the centre of controversy over his suspect action, is set to return to Test cricket for Pakistan in the forthcoming home series against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Tauqir Zia said, “He (Akhtar) has been cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and now it’s entirely up to the board to decide if we want to play him.”

Zia’s view contradicts ICC president Jagmohan Dalmiya who said last Thursday the PCB would report to the ICC advisory panel on bowling actions about remedial measures to Shoaib’s action. The panel would consider the report, and any fresh video tapes, before deciding on further action.
