
Bangalore, June 26: The All India Football Federation has named 22 players for the third and final phase of the under-23 pre-Olympic football camp to be held in Calcutta from June 29 to July 13.
Prabhjot Singh and Hardeep Singh Sangha of JCT, who are on the injured list, and six others have been excluded from the list of 30 who attended the second phase of the preparatory camp at the SAI Southern Centre in Bangalore from May 10 to June 25. Prabhjot, who played in under-21 Asian Youth championship held in Bangalore last year and Hardeep, his JCT team-mate are likely to get a call up for the final camp if they are able to prove their fitness.
Meanwhile,sources in AIFF said these 22 members were likely to visit Uzbekistan for practice matches between July 3-10.
AIFF had contacted their Uzbek counterparts on June 25 asking for three matches with the Uzbek under-23 side, National team and National league champions. The team was scheduled to play a three-match series in Kazakhstan but the trip was called off in the last minute by the Kazakh authorities citing technical reasons.
