Gujarat State Legal Service Authority plans some 2,400 legal education workshops, including 43 in the city, in the State tomorrow to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s 129th birth anniversary. It says 430 Gokul Grams will be covered under the legal education drive.

Implementation
Construction Labour Organisation has demanded immediate implementation of Housing and Other Construction Workers (Terms and Conditions of Employment) Act, 1996 and Housing and Other Construction Welfare Tax Act, 1996. The demand was raised at a labour convention at Mehandi Nawaz Jung Hall on Thursday.

Sethi hailed
Mayor Joitaram Patel has congratulated Geet Sethi for winning the Florsheim World Professional Billards Championship on Wednesday. He said that by winning the championship for the fourth time, Sethi had brought honour to the city.

Seminar
A seminar on Agenda Beyond Vote (politics) is planned at at ATIRA auditorium by Ahmedabad Industrial and Other Employers Union tommorow. MP and former Union minister Y K Alagh will also address the seminar.

Forum meet
An emergency meeting of Gujarat Backward Class Development Forum has been convened on Sunday to decide on course of action in view of the High Court ruling on 27 per cent reservation in medical and engineering courses from this year.

Global trip
A group of youngsters will be on worldwide tour on bicycle from Friday, to create AIDS awareness. They will cover about 80,000 km. The trip is nammed World Mission of AIDS Awareness.

Books released
Governor Anshuman Singh released books on Jain literature, including `A visit to Shatrunjay’ on Thursday. Assembly Speaker Dhirubhai Shah was the chief guest. Rajasthan Duputy Assembly Speaker Tara Bhandari was present.

Rally route
Traffic police have made special arrangements in view of the deaddiction rally planned by the Health Department and Gujarat Cancer Society tomorrow. Vehicles are banned on the route from Ghanti Stand Bapunagar to Relief Road via Ajit Mill crossing, Rakhial and Sarangpur bridge between 10 am and 12 noon when the rally passes. Similarly, vehicles are banned on the Asarwa High School Road, Girdharnagar Mahakali Mandir Road, Shahibaug underbridge, Ashram Road, Usmanpura and Gujarat Vidyapith have also been banned. Besides, the rally will pass through Kankaria Divan Ballubhai Middle School, Kankaria football ground, Jamalpur Circle, Sardar Patel bridge, Paldi circle, Sharda Mandir railway crossing, Law garden and Navarangpura bus stand. At Sardar Patel Stadium, parking facility has been provided for scooters and cars opposite main gate No 2.
