BJP chief L.K. Advani today spoke of the party’s ‘‘very satisfactory’’ performance in recent weeks and called on party MPs to be ‘‘more active’’ in Parliament.
Addressing the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting today, Advani said the BJP rallies in Delhi, Patna and Ranchi had been ‘‘the biggest’’ in recent years. He said the BJP had recorded splendid victories in the local bodies elections in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, adding party MPs had raised issues in Parliament without stalling the House.
However, in an indirect rap to MPs for their low attendance in the House, Advani said he hoped they would be more regular and active in the rest of the session. Party spokesman V.K. Malhotra said the BJP had decided to raise the fracas between Laloo Prasad Yadav and Ram Vilas Paswan ‘‘every day’’ till the PM spelled out his stand.
