AA Ab Laut Chalen is as hyped as Rishi Kapoor8217;s first directorial venture deserves to be. And the promise of good music is normally taken for granted when it comes to the RK banner. Aa Ab8230;, however, is some what of a disappointment.

The first thing you notice is the absence of hummable melodies in this collection of seven songs 8212; eight, if you count the second version of O Yaaron Maaf Karna8217;.

The title song, which is all over television channels is, undoubtedly, the best of the collection. The second song that catches your attention is O Yaaron8230;,8217; which has a decent composition, but is exceedingly long. With two parts, to boot. Mera Dil Tera Deewana8217; is another song that falls in the mediocre category.

The tragic number, Tere Bin Ek Pal8217;, is rendered in Jaspinder Singh8217;s nasal voice, and is nothing to write home about. The first song on Side B, Yehi Hai Pyaar8217;, has a foot-tapping melody, much like the dandiya beat. The other number, YehKaisi Mulaqat8217;, is another attempt at a fun-loving track, but it doesn8217;t quite do the trick.

The last number, Otashi Anata8217; has a good beat, once again, you could find yourself complaining that it8217;s way too long. All in all, the music of Aa Ab Laut Chalen is a disappointment. The better part of this two-tape collection is the tape with instrumentals from former RK films.
