SYDNEY, Jan 5: Australian captain Mark Taylor broke his predecessor Allan Border8217;s world record for catches in Test cricket by a non-wicketkeeper when he claimed his 157th today.

Taylor caught Mark Ramprakash of England low at first slip off Glenn McGrath8217;s bowling in the first session of the fourth day of the fifth Test at Sydney.

Taylor reached the milestone in his 104th Test. Border had 156 catches from 156 games.
