President of the national body of the forum Shailendranath Shrivastava and general secretary Jagdish Pal said the 17-year old Sanskar Bharati had 1075 centres all over the country and more than 16,000 scholars as members. The forum, they informed the gathering, not only endeavoured to promote Indian classical music, theatre, literature and painting but was also creating a nation-wide network to fight “crude cultural attack from abroad.”

They regretted that India did not have even a national policy to protect and promote Indian culture. Shrivastava said that the forum was also fighting against unchecked sex, violence and brutality depicted in various media in the name of art. Pal said that the forum was also planning to install a statue of Pt Thakur in his native village Jhajgam in Kheda district.
