A Two-year-old boy was killed and at least 22 people injured, two of them critically, in two separate explosions that rocked Karbi Anglong district on Friday evening. While police suspect the role of ULFA in one of the blasts, the other blast was suspected to be the handiwork of the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA).

The first blast occurred near a fish market in the heart of Diphu at around 6.20 pm on Friday. Fourteen people were injured in the incident. The other blast occurred at Hukanjan, a small town under Bokajan police station of Karbi Anglong, at around 8.45 pm. A two-year-old boy was killed in the explosion that took place inside a pharmacy store. Eight people, including two KRA activists, were injured.
