A young editor of a Marathi newspaper was recently seen meeting top leaders of MVA seeking Lok Sabha ticket from Maharashtra’s Amravati LS seat. Sources say that he is confident of MVAs victory and is willing to try his luck from his hometown from any of the three parties. The reserved seat is currently held by BJP- affiliated Navneet Rana. The MVA leaders have asked him to be patient.
In a major embarrassment to the state government, in particular the revenue department, Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal cancelled transfers of four tehsildars within a day of hearing. It slammed the government for transfers before the tenure without any valid reason or urgency. A certain Union minister from Maharashtra had pushed for one of the transfers so hard that the Chief Minister’s Office allegedly became helpless.
Maharashtra’s cooperation minister Atul Save ordered an inquiry on Bajirao Shinde in the budget session. The demand was made by the MLAs of ruling BJP, including Mumbai unit chief Ashish Shelar. While no inquiry has been initiated, Shinde was given an extension for one year on the same post last week. The BJP MLAs who demanded the inquiry are left wondering who turned the tables?
