When actor Amol Parashar isn’t charming us on screen, he’s at his peaceful retreat, a home that feels less like a set and more like a personal cocoon. The actor has been going viral on the Internet recently, with many netizens crowning him with the title Zaddy. But when it comes to his home, Parashar is relaxed and laidback. His living room is where the heart of the home beats, filled with plants, books, natural light, and the casual comfort of someone who truly spends time here. “Mostly yahan baithta hoon main; TV dekhta hoon, sochta hoon, kitaab padhta hoon, yahin let jaata hoon,” he shares. Unlike his earlier, more cramped Bombay apartments, this space offers a refreshing sense of openness thanks to large glass windows leading to a private terrace. “It’s lit. jaise ki aaj kal ke jazzy log bolte hain,” he jokes. There’s no grand design plan here, yet a subtle theme emerges: greens, blues, wooden textures, and a splash of boho casual. “Couch pe already thodi green wali vibe thi. maine bas us theme mein actual paudhe daal diye,” Amol admits. Over time, plants “hone lage” — not as a stylistic decision, not as a stylistic decision but because he naturally gravitated towards them. One corner holds a guitar, more of a reminder than a performance tool. “Gift mila tha. lockdown ke first day pe. seekhna shuru kiya. aur lockdown khatam hua, toh woh jo josh tha woh fade out ho gaya.” It’s this kind of relatable vulnerability that defines his space. As does the subtle scent of curated candles, diffusers, and fragrant sprays. “Smell bhi ek important sense hai jo hum ignore kar dete hain,” he says. His home is filled with “chhoti chhoti cheezein”: action figures, gifted paintings, and a solid shelf of unread but treasured books. “Some are gifts, some recommended, some khud se li. aur abhi padhi nahi hain.” The round wooden dining table is more than just a place for meals. It doubles as Amol’s “personal round table” for deep discussions, writing sessions, and creative huddles. “90% meals hoti hain. but conversations bhi hote hain; deep discussions on scripts, writing.” His shelf of awards sits right next to his sleek, fantasy-fulfilled bar (inspired by childhood dreams from books and films). “Mera running joke hai, yeh do tarah ke nashae hain, ek drink aur ek award!” His bedroom stays minimal — a cocoon with just the essentials: “bed, AC, fan, books, Netflix.” Bookshelves dominate over décor, housing scripts, diaries, sunglasses and to-do lists. “At the end of the day. aapko ek cocoon chahiye hota hai. yeh room mujhe woh feeling deta hai.” Then there’s the showstopper, a spacious private terrace that makes this home feel like a secret resort. “Bombay mein terrace mil jaana. that’s luxury.” Whether it’s fairy-lit parties with friends or a solitary evening coffee, the space transforms. "Jab bhi kuch release hota hai ya koi achievement milti hai, toh yahi pe party hoti hai. Umeed hai is saal kaafi reasons milenge party karne ke liye," the actor added. “Wild garden jaisa vibe hai. aur mujhe woh pasand hai,” he says. A leftover bench from his live show Besharam Aadmi also sits proudly here, adding a layer of theatre to his rooftop jungle. “Thoda zyaada space hai ek aadmi ke liye, but I like that. Friends, family ke liye bhi jagah hai. everything here reflects my taste," Parashar says of his home.
