There’s something instantly comforting about stepping into a home that feels lived-in, loved, and full of stories. That’s exactly the feeling Sonali Bendre’s Mumbai home gives off—an effortless mix of warmth, elegance, and vintage charm.
In a recent video shared on her YouTube channel, filmmaker and longtime friend Farah Khan took viewers on a relaxed walkthrough of Sonali’s house—and it’s every bit as stunning as fans imagined.
With rich wooden floors, soft lighting, and walls lined with beautiful artwork, Sonali’s home feels more like a soulful retreat than just a residence.
The drawing room, for instance, is a cosy haven of white sofas, antique vases, and large windows that let in floods of natural light. It’s no wonder Farah Khan had a favourite spot. Pointing to the corner of a plush sofa, she smiled and said:
“That’s my favourite spot over there. Jab bhi main yaha party ya kabhi aati hun main ye kona pakad ke baith jati hun kyunki ye bahaut hi comfortable hai.”
And she’s right—the space does look like the perfect place to curl up with a book or enjoy a quiet moment with friends.
What makes Sonali’s home stand out is the thoughtful way it’s put together. Antique chairs (an actual throne-style chair, too!) sit beside statement art pieces, and vintage decor gives every nook a bit of character. One of the most eye-catching features is the full silver mandir—graceful, serene, and beautifully placed, it adds a sense of spiritual calm to the surroundings.
The charm continues in the dining room. A large wooden table, elegant chairs, and a backdrop of artistic glasswork create a grand and inviting space. The darker wood tones and big paintings throughout the house create a cosy, lived-in feeling—nothing feels overdone or impersonal.
And then there’s the bookshelf—big, filled with well-loved books, and proof of Sonali’s love for reading. The balcony brings in more sunlight, making the whole space open and welcoming.
The kitchen, too, is a blend of beauty and function. With a sleek black countertop, clean white cupboards, and a wide window above the stove, it feels both modern and homely.
