Fish in a cookie? Yes, Oreo is out with its new Swedish Fish flavour and it’s got us worried

The creme filling isn't perfectly pillowy and squishy but a little more sticky and chewy.

We all love Oreos. It’s our favourite midnight munchie. We whisk it, bake it or just eat it as a whole but this new flavour might just leave you stunned. Swedish Fish Oreos are a thing now- no guys, it’s not a cruel joke. It’s actually happening!

Sure, the brand has got an unpredictable limited-edition flavours from Blueberry Pie to Cinnamon Bun, but we never thought that they would go this far. Fish in a cookie? A little difficult for us to digest. But alas, these cookies are not going to come to India anytime soon and are only exclusively available in Kroger in the US. So if you want a taste of it, better ask your ‘videshi’ relatives to get a pack for you. It costs only $3. (P.S. We can’t guarantee if it’s going to taste good! But this life is for experimenting, right?!)

According to the first to reviewer of the cookies, Dan of The Impulsive Buy, the cream filling does taste exactly like Swedish Fish, but it’s a little off-putting. “This creme isn’t perfectly pillowy, soft, and squishy. It’s a little more sticky, chewy, and dare I say . . . slimy.”

Then there was another review on Instagram by oreo_hunters, who wrote: “I’m gonna be honest with you people, Swedish fish Oreo cookies were not a good idea. Especially with a chocolate cookie. So let’s just say this may be one of those flavors where I may not finish the package. That being said, there is no denying that these guys do, in fact, taste like Swedish fish. The chocolate cookie blends not too terribly with the creme taste, and you end up with an interesting array of flavors, some of which are, dare I say it, pleasant. For you Oreo OGs, you may remember the fruit punch Oreos back in 2014. This creme has similar touches, such as a super sweet after taste. So here’s the deal: these aren’t great. They’re barely even good. But, in a weird, Oreo twisted way, they aren’t a total flop, and they’re worth the try. Happy Hunting! Grade: B”

Intrigued enough to go dial that Ohio-based aunty’s number immediately to book a pack?
