The accounts of the children who survived Peshawar massacre were heartbreaking. The imagined account of a dead child by Emotional Fulls sends chills down the spine. There were brave children who pretended to be dead to survive the attack. And then there were those who could not.
One of the lines in the account reads: “Tell dad I’m sorry, I couldn’t be the brave son he wanted me to be. I got so scared listening to the sounds of bullets being fired and people screaming all around me that I froze, I couldn’t even move from my bench.”
The imagined letter starts with the lines – “Dear Mom, if I would have known, I wouldn’t have fought with you for again giving me bread for tiffin, I would have turned back and seen you one more time, would have hugged you tightly one last time.”
The voice of the child in the video goes on to share the unfinished tasks that he planned to do that day, the inexplicable pain he felt when a bullet hit his stomach and his eventual death. He also wonders about the probable cause of his death, but is unable to fathom.
The video doesn’t make you emotional, it makes you go blank. Much like the kid, who never thought he would not return home to meet his mother
