Time and again the debate around women’s choices in a patriarchal society is brought up. And rightly so. But have we ever thought that in the facade of complete freedom, men are restricted too by the society?

Men cannot watch saas-bahu serials
Men cannot/shouldn’t cook
Men cannot show that they are hurt
Men can’t cry like ‘girls’
Men cannot show they are scared…

And the list goes on.

Just like women don’t want to be protected all the time, men also want to be exempted from the role of being a protector. What if men want to be a homemaker and don’t want to earn? Will the society give them freedom to do that?
