Designer Namrata Joshipura tells us about her studio vibe and running as a stress buster

AT HOME
I have been actively running in Delhi for eight years, and three years ago, I got a coach for strength training and long distance running. I run twice a week, and it’s what I do when I am happy or sad, energetic or lazy. During weekdays, I go to Lodhi Garden for short runs, and I do 20 km runs on weekends. I also do half-marathons now. I particularly like this selfie with my daughter, who is 10 and is training for track and field. This was shot after her training session and my run last Sunday at Nehru Park.

This is at my studio in Noida, where I sit with my design team comprising four people. There is a sense of calm amid chaos in office when we work — unless fashion week is round the corner. Then it’s just bubbling with energy and we work for 13-14 hours, seven days a week. I have only one rule in office – I don’t encourage personal calls, Facebook or WhatsApp. It’s all about efficiency and I like to maintain that in my work space. When we are closer to the fashion week, then we play music in the office to keep everyone going.
