Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra show us how to do the cool ‘sailor girl trend’

Talk about nautical style and the first thing that comes to our mind is Victoria’s Secret model Gigi Hadid’s latest TommyxGigi collection. The supermodel created quite a wave with her designs when she live streamed her show in August, garnering a steady fan following – like 24 million followers on Instagram wasn’t enough!

Looks like we’re not the only ones following her closely. A couple of days back, Katrina Kaif was seen wearing a super cool sailor girl TommyxGigi silk dress, which she paired with a jacket from the Fall-Winter 2016 collaborative collection. In fact, even her heels with rope detailing were from Tommy’s Fall-Winter collection. Hair and make-up artist Bianca Hartkopf kept it simple with ‘au naturale’ make-up and matte lips. While we loved the pieces, we think pairing it together made the patterns clash, and that’s coming from someone who loves nautical themes. For instance, the silk dress and shoes would have looked perfect minus the jacket. Or the jacket would have simply looked better paired with a white tank, denims and brogues/oxfords.

But it’s not just Kaif doing the trend. We spotted our very own rock star Priyanka Chopra in a chic Michael Kors number and she reminded us of a cute yet uber-chic sailor girl. The glitter striped pull over is a beauty but pairing it with a white shirt and front-buttoned navy blue skirt took it to the next level. With hair in natural waves, the actress finished the look with nude make-up, marsala lips and a pair of golden heels from Gianvito Rossi. International celebrity stylist Cristina Ehrlich did a brilliant job!
