Given the huge fan following of Star Wars across the world, one of the world's most visited theme parks Disneyland, California has decided to build a dedicated Star Wars land spread across 14 acres, reports LA Times. This new construction, considered its largest ever, will be a committed region, though Disneyland has been extremely secretive about what's in store for its visitors. To make way for this new attraction, the children's park will shut down 10 attractions and eateries, including permanently closing the Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland, Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue, Big Thunder Ranch petting zoo and Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree and temporary close of attractions on the Rivers of America — mainly Fantasmic, the Mark Twain Riverboat, the Sailing Ship Columbia, the Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, the Disneyland Railroad and the Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes. Not that Disneyland has not been entertaining Star Wars fans already. It acquired the Star Wars franchise in 2012, and has Star Tours rides in the park's Tomorrowland, where a building has been converted into Star Wars Launch Bay. In addition to that, eateries have Darth by Chocolate and Cheese 3PO Burger on their menu. However, this close is not expected to affect the number of visitors coming in. In fact, it's expected to increase the number anticipating curiosity among visitors to see the developments. "With our continuing Diamond Celebration entertainment and the new Season of the Force offerings, there is so much for guests to do during this time," Disney spokeswoman Suzi Brown was quoted as saying. The park has recently added a revamped fireworks show, a nightly parade and a water-and-fire extravaganza at Disney California Adventure. According to LA Times, the release date hasn't been decided but it's not going to be any soon than a year.
