It's finally over. For all those who thought that the eighth book - and let's be very honest, it's not really a book. It's a play - heralded the beginning of a whole new series of the Harry Potter saga, then contain your disappointment because author JK Rowling has come out and just said it - Harry's done. As the new Harry Potter play opened to swooning reviews and delighted gasps from the audience in London on Saturday, his creator came on to the stage to announce that this marked the end of the journey for the beloved boy wizard. The play 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' and a book based on its script have helped awaken a new wave of Pottermania five years since the previous episode was made into a movie. It was billed as the eighth instalment in the series, and had many hoping that this would mark a new beginning with a new phase of stories. But it seems, that is not to be. This is the next generation, you know. So, I'm thrilled to see it realised so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now." The story of the 'Cursed Child' picks up from where 'Deathly Hallows' left off - 19 years after the massive fight with Voldemort, featuring Harry as a 37-year-old overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic and father of three. The book and play - split into two parts - had people queuing up at bookstores, with true-blue Potter fans having pre-booked their copies long back. Twitter was full of excited posts all of Sunday (July 31) with readers from across the world posting selfies proudly holding the latest edition of the Harry Potter series. The next major production to look forward to now, is the movie version of the Rowling's Potter spin-off book 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them', which is expected to hit the theatres in November this year. According to The New York Times, there is talk of the 'Cursed Child' being made into a Broadway production as well.
