The Union Bank of India has started the applications for 1500 posts of local bank officers at its official website. Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply at the official website, unionbankofindia.co.in. The deadline for the application is November 13. There are various positions opened across the country.
The candidates will have to apply for vacancies in one state only. A candidate applying against a vacancy in one state will not be eligible to apply against a vacancy in any other state. The bank will prepare a merit list state-wise. Shortlisted candidates will be on probation for 2 years of active service from the date of joining the bank.
Candidates need to remember that the vacancies are provisional and may vary as per the Bank’s requirements. The Union Bank of India reserves its right to interchange the number of reserved vacancies in various categories as per the government guidelines.
Candidates should possess a full-time or regular bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution. The minimum age limit for aspirants to apply for the local bank officer post is 20, while the maximum age limit is 30. The cut-off date for eligibility in age criteria will be the first day of the month in which online registration commences, here in this case, it is October 1, while for educational qualification, the cut-off is November 13. Reservation will be applied to the candidates according to the rules of the government of India.
Candidates who belong to the general, EWS and OBC categories will have to pay Rs 850 as registration fees, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates will have to pay Rs 175. The transaction can be done through debit cards, credit cards, internet banking, IMPS, cash cards, mobile wallets and UPI.
“The selected candidates will be required to execute a Service Indemnity Bond undertaking to serve the Bank for a minimum period of 3 years or to pay the Bank a sum of Rs two Lakh only plus applicable taxes as per the government rules in case he/she leaves the Bank before completion of 3 years of active service,” read the notification by the Union of Bank of India.
Candidates must pass a four-tiered selection process. Depending on the number of qualified applicants, this entails an online test, a group discussion (if held), application screening, and/or rounds of in-person interviews. The examination will include the following topics, reasoning and computer aptitude, general, economy, banking awareness, data analysis and interpretation and English language.
Regarding the format of the written test, there will be 155 questions totalling 200 marks on the question paper. Each incorrect response that is marked in the objective test will result in a penalty. According to the notification, if a candidate provides an incorrect response, one-fourth, or 0.25, of the points allotted to that question would be subtracted as a penalty.
Each candidate will be required to secure a minimum score in each test of online examination. Additionally, a minimum total score will be considered to be shortlisted for an interview. Depending on the number of vacancies available, the Bank will prepare cut-offs and candidates will be shortlisted for interview.
