The NTA has not yet announced the date of the result declaration of the UGC NET 2022 exam

A total of 8,34,537 candidates appeared for 83 subjects. The exams were conducted in 16 days from February 21 to March 16 in 32 shifts. The exams were held at 663 centres across 186 cities.

The upper age limit for JRF is 30 years while there is no upper age limit to apply for assistant professor. In JRF, there five year upper age limit relaxation for candidates belonging to the following categories—

OBC NCL
SC
ST
PwD
Third gender

'Indian Knowledge Systems' has been added first time in the list of UGC NET subjects.

There are no ranks assigned for UGC NET. 'As per the UGC policy, 6 per cent of those candidates who appear in both the papers and obtain minimum qualifying marks in aggregate of both the papers will be declared NET qualified,' states the official website.

NTA has meanwhile extended the deadline to apply for CSIR NET December 2022/June 2023 exams. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website csirnet.nta.nic.in.

To be considered for JRF and eligibility Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor, candidates need to secure 40 per cent aggregate marks in both papers taken together for candidates belonging to open and general EWS categories and for reserved categories, candidates have to secure at 35 per cent aggregate marks in both papers taken together.

"As per notification for UGC-NET, the candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates whose post-graduation subject is not included in the list of NET subjects, may appear in a related subject," states the official website

UGC NET December 2022 exams were held in five phases:-

Phase 2- From February 28 to March 1

No, the NTA will not entertain any re-evaluation requests after the results. The candidates had time from March 23 to 25 to raise objections to the provisional answer key.

UGC NET is held twice a year – June and December cycles. After UGC NET December 2022 result is announced, NTA will begin online registration for the June 2023 exam. The official website remains the same. Meanwhile, UGC NET aspirants can regularly check NTA website for the latest updates.

Before NTA announces UGC NET result, here's the marking scheme

Each question carries two marks and for each correct response, a candidate will score two marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect responses. If a question is found to be "incorrect/ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates
who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given the credit.

Yes, the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India has been implementing the Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) Scheme on the lines of the JRF Scheme of UGC and CSIR. The UGC and CSIR Fellowship Schemes are open for candidates of all social categories and communities including minorities. Further, students from minority communities are also covered under National Fellowship Schemes for Scheduled Castes and OBC’s implemented by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. In view of the overlap among the aforesaid Schemes - it has been decided to discontinue the MANF Scheme from 2022-23 onward. The existing MANF Fellows will continue to receive Fellowships till the end of their respective tenure, subject to compliance with the existing guidelines.

As per the resevation policy of Government of India:

15 per cent seats are reserved for SC candidates
7.5 per cent seats are reserved for ST candidates
27 per cent of seats are reserved for OBC NCL candidates as per the Central list
10 per cent seats are reserved for General EWS candidates
5 per cent of seats in the aforementioned categories are reserved for PwD candidates with 40 per cent or more disability

On March 11, a total of 77 candidates couldn't complete their exam due to a technical glitch at an exam centre in Delhi's Rithala. The technical glitch triggered chaos at the centre. The NTA decided to reschedule the exam for those candidates
