Hours after the Delhi Police apprised the Supreme Court that it has decided to register an FIR against Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations, protesting grapplers Friday remained defiant and said they would continue their stir until the WFI chief was sent to jail.
“Our protest will continue until he is sent to jail,” wrestler Bajrang Punia said while addressing a press conference at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

Saying that filing an FIR is the first step towards victory, the wrestlers, however, added that they didn’t trust the Delhi Police as they might file a loose FIR.
The Delhi Police’s decision to file a FIR came after a notice was issued to them on the petition filed by seven women wrestlers seeking the registration of an FIR against Brij Bhushan, who is also the BJP MP from Kaiserganj in UP for alleged sexual harassment.
The country’s top wrestlers have been on a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi since Sunday over the matter.
