Swarved Mahamandir is a modern symbol of India’s social and spiritual capabilities, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while inaugurating the Swarved Mahamandir in Varanasi on Monday termed it as a modern symbol of the social and spiritual capabilities of India. The Swarved Mahamandir is touted to be one of the biggest centres of Vihangam Yog and meditation in the world.

“I was mesmerised when I took a tour of the Swarved Mahamandir. It is a modern symbol of the social and spiritual power of India. The divine teachings of Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Gita and Mahabharata have been beautifully depicted through pictures on the walls of the Mahamandir,” the PM said at the inauguration event.

“Under the guidance of saints, the people of Kashi have set new records in terms of development and new construction…Today, Swarved Mahamandir is an example of this,” he said further.

A 7-level super-structure, the Mandir has 3,137 Swarved verses engraved on its Makarana Marble. The Mandir’s design is made up of 125 Lotus Domes and has a seating capacity of about 20,000 people.

The temple also boasts an exquisite garden featuring medicinal herbs.
