The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on Friday took to social media to clarify that no changes have been made to the timings for the tatkal and premium tatkal ticketing services. This came after some social media posts claimed that the timings have changed and the platform is revising the timings from April 15. In a post on X, IRCTC said, “Some posts are circulating on Social Media channels mentioning about different timings for Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets. No such change in timings is currently proposed in the Tatkal or Premium Tatkal booking timings for AC or Non-AC classes.” It added, “The permitted booking timings for agents also remain unchanged.” Attached along with the post was a further clarification which said, “Tatkal E-ticket can be booked for selected trains one day in advance excluding date of journey from the train originating station.” Some posts are circulating on Social Media channels mentioning about different timings for Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets. To further clarify, IRCTC wrote, “If train is to depart from originating station on 2nd August, for AC class Tatkal Booking will commence at 10:00 AM and for Non AC class will commence at 11:00 AM on 1st August.” “Tatkal Booking facility provides Confirmed / Waitlisted tickets against Tatkal quota, in any class except 1 AC, for journey between source/ remote stations having Tatkal Quota to destination,” IRCTC said. The platform also clarified that a maximum of four passengers can be booked under one PNR on Tatkal e-ticket. “Tatkal charges per passenger are in addition to normal ticket,” IRCTC said.
