Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin-led Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam swept Lok Sabha election by winning 39 out of 39 seats in the state and the lone seat in Puducherry. The thumping victory comes as a blow to the BJP and its state chief K Annamalai who led a fierce campaign in the state. Conceding defeat, Annamalai who secured over 4 lakh votes in Coimbatore, wrote in a post on X, "I bow down to the people of the Coimbatore Parliamentary constituency & thank the 4.5 Lakh voters who bestowed their faith in NDA & @BJP4TamilNadu. You believed in the vision of our Hon PM Shri @narendramodiavl for his Viksit Bharat. You have given us historic votes in the history of Coimbatore PC for NDA, and still, we were short of the winning mark. Not only DMK and its allies Congress, CPI, CPI(M), VCK, MDMK and IUML made a clean sweep, but its candidates - Kanimozhi, Dayanidhi Maran, T R Baalu, among others also won by huge margins in their constituencies. Even in Coimbatore and Dharmapuri constituencies, where BJP and PMK were expected to give a tough fight, DMK emerged victorious comfortably.
