UP: FIR registered against CMO,contractors

The bungling UP health and family welfare dept was detected during inquiry into murder of a CMO on April 2.

After removing him from his post,an FIR has been registered against Chief Medical Officer,

Lucknow and a senior clerk besides,several contractors on charges of misappropriation of funds,officials said today.

The FIR has been registered against CMO A K Shukla,senior clerk Sanjay Anand and some contractors by Joint Director Administration Rajendra Singh at Wazirganj police station late last night,they said.

Of those named in the FIR,Anand has been arrested by the police.

In the FIR,Singh alleged that the CMO misused his powers and helped his associates in withdrawing government funds by producing fake bills.

A Deputy CMO,Y S Sachan,Administration Officer CS Yadav and senior clerk P C Verma are already in two days police remand in similar cases.

Two ministers Babu Singh Khushwaha and Anant Kumar Mishra had quit yesterday due to the ongoing controversy.
