Jammu and Kashmir government has chalked out a crash programme for the protection of the world famous Dal Lake here,saying its maintenance has been badly affected during the ongoing unrest in the Valley.
The programme was chalked out at a high-level meeting chaired by Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Nasir Aslam Wani here on Tuesday,an official spokesman said on Wednesday.
The Minister advised Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) to put all the machinery and manpower into action to protect the lake.
The spokesman said the meeting also reviewed the immediate steps required to be taken for speedy development of Srinagar city and other major towns of the Valley.
