PDP destabilized successive govts to grab power: Vakil

PDP had always played a spoilsport in state politics,Abdul Gani Vakil said.

A senior Congress leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today accused opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of destabilizing successive governments the state to grab power.

PDP had always played a spoilsport in state politics and destabilised various governments beginning from that of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah to Farooq Abdullah and finally Ghulam Nabi Azad in recent years,that had adversely affected the political atmosphere,Vakil,who was a cabinet minister during PDP-Congress coalion government,said addressing a party convention at Baramulla.

Vakil alleged PDP was a ‘power-hungry party’ and never wanted to see democratically-elected representatives to perform in the state.

He said “PDP was still putting in its efforts to create an uncertainty which was aimed at destabilising coalition,merely to grab power”.

Vakil charged PDP had ditched its partners merely to stay in power and now there are no takers for PDP’s moves of trying to establish itself in the political arena of Jammu and Kashmir.
