Pandits observe APD arrival in Jammu as black day

A group of activists demonstrated and dubbed the arrival of the all-party delegation in the city as a black-day.

Maintaining that no solution was possible without the involvement of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits in the dialogue process,a group of activists on Tuesday demonstrated and dubbed the arrival of the all-party delegation in the city as a black-day.

Wearing black bands on their heads and shoulders, over 1,000 activists of the Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) protested here and raised anti-state and Central government slogans.

“By sitting on dharna for two days and observing these days as black days,we want to highlight the plight of displaced Kashmiri Pandits in the state,” President YAIKS R K Bhat told reporters here.

“A two-decade exile of pandits has been slur on the face of the Indian democratic system,” he said, adding,”Indian secularism has totally failed in Kashmir, where it has failed to defend the rights of the minority pandit community. We want to make it clear that no solution to the Kashmir issue is possible without the involvement of pandits,” he said.
