Bihar government on Friday said that not a single person would be allowed to die of hunger despite 26 out of 38 district facing drought like situation.
Bihar minister for Agriculture Eenui Kumari Kushwaha told this while addressing a conference on ‘People’s Summit for Hunger Free Bihar’ and said that a number of measures had been initiated to check starvation death in drought hit districts.
She said that Bihar Chief Minister,Nitish Kumar had inherited an empty coffer but he had brought the state back on the path of development by sheer will power and with the strength of the people.
Kumar initiated a number innovative measures to improve health,education and road sectors and prepared an ‘agriculture road map’ for all round development of the state as 70 per cent of state’s population depended on agriculture,Kushwaha said.
