MP Govt approves 432.84 acres land for IIT Indore

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved the decision of the Indore district administration to allot 432.84 acres of land to the IIT,Indore.

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved the decision of the Indore district administration to allot 432.84 acres of land to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT),Indore for its proposed campus,official sources said on Wednesday.

The decision was endorsed by the state Cabinet in its meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday,they said.

The land will be allotted to IIT Indore on an annual lease rent of Rs one per year.

The remaining 70.52 acres of land will be allotted to the premier institute after acquiring the same from farmers for which the process is on,the sources added. Indore is the only city in the country having both an IIT and an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in its fold.
