Leopard cub killed by mob in Maharashtra

A leopard cub was killed by a mob today after the beast attacked a woman near here in eastern Maharashtra,Forest Department officials said.

The incident occurred this morning on the city’s outskirts after the woman was attacked and injured by the wild animal near a nullah when she went to answer nature’s call,said G R K Rao,Conservator of Forests,Chandrapur Circle.

On learning about the incident,a mob from the nearby locality launched a search for the beast and found it in a bush near the place of attack. The infuriated mob beat the leopard to death with clubs and sharp weapons,he added.
