Labourer charred to death

A labourer from West Bengal was charred to death when a fire broke out in a plywood factory in Budgam district of central Kashmir,police said today.

Topan Dass (23),a resident of Purgoo area of West Bengal,died after a hut inside the factory at Chadoora,20 kms from here,was gutted late last night,a police spokesman said.

The charred body was recovered from the gutted structure which he was using as a residential quarter,he said.

“The cause of the fire was not known immediately. A case has been registered and investigations are on,” the spokesman said.
