Joint operation launched to track killers of two jawans

Militants killed Mohammad Sharief and Mohammad Khalil of 163 Territorial Army (TA) Battalion when they had gone for a specific operation.

A massive operation has been launched in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir to track down the militants,including LeT commander Abu Moosa,responsible for killing two jawans of the Territorial Army on January one.

“A massive operation has been launched to track down the militants responsible for the killing of two TA jawans in Bhimdasa area of Gool belt in Ramban district,” Army officials said.

A joint team of Rastriya Rifles and police,along with tracker dogs,are conducting search operations in Kheori Kund,Bhatpora,Bhimdasa and Gool areas of the district,they said.

The area comprises dense forests,deep valleys and rugged mountains and the operation is very difficult,the officials said.

Militants killed two jawans — Mohammad Sharief and Mohammad Khalil of 163 Territorial Army (TA) Battalion when they had gone for a specific operation in Khora-Baghpora area in Bhimdasa belt of Gool tehsil in Ramban district on January one.

Their bodies were recovered during an operation by the Army,which also busted a hideout close to the area and recovered two rifles — UMG and 303 rifle.
