J-K govt to finalise BOSE chairman by Jan-end: Peerzada

The position is vacant for the last two months after the retirement of Professor Desh Bhanu.

The Chairman of the Board of School Education (BOSE),a post lying vacant for the last two months,will be decided by a search committee,scheduled to meet over the issue this month,a Jammu and Kashmir minister said today.

“A four-member search committee headed by Commissioner Secretary Naseema Lankar will meet on January 16 to finalise the name of the Chairman,” Minister for Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed told reporters at a function here.

The position is vacant for the last two months after the retirement of Prof Desh Bhanu. Bhanu retired two months ago after his two-year long tenure.

Four names have been shortlisted for the post.

At present Commissioner/Secretary School Education Naseema Lanker is holding the additional charge for the post.

Negating the delays in the selection of the chairman,the Minister said,”Every process takes some time. We are at it. The working of BOSE has not been affected.”
